Confessions of a Disappointed Art School Student

Thu Apr 3, 2008, 7:13 AM
Hello Everybody!

I have some explaining to do. For the past fall, winter, and spring I have attended Parsons School of Design in Design and Technology. I am extremely disappointed by the level of education I have received by the school, so I am transferring after the end of the semester to a school that will actually TEACH me what I need to know.

But the problem with what i've been doing over the last year directly impacts my artwork. I take 6 classes a week that are all 3 to 6 hours long and each class has about 20 hours a week of work. This should produce so much artwork that my page should be flooded with my work! But most of what i've been ordered to do has been web design and narrative-hardly things I can post onto my deviantart page.

I really really miss drawing, and painting, and all the fine arts I used to do, but I finish each day so exhausted I start shaking and halucinating. My health is suffering from this and sometimes I can't hold my hand steady enough to produce anything.

In short, thank you for your continued patronage to my page, and I will produce more artwork, just after May 15th:) Keep coming back and thank you SO MUCH for you understanding, and wish me luck for pursuing animation further in the next school i'm going to in the fall.

HIIII ALL YOU PATIENT PEOPLE OUT THERE!

I promise to get some artwork out as soon as my teachers give it back. ::grumbles:: We have to rush to get it done and then they take FOREVER to grade it and bitch and moan about how long it takes to grade. If you are THAT upset by it then DON"T ASSIGN THE WORK! Lol sorry they just frustrate me:)

Thank you!

Ok I know deviantart is for art only but I have to get something off my chest.

College is sucking REALLY bad right now:( I have a week and a half of frickin orientation, and i've been here 5 days and all I want to do is go back home. I have homesickness in the worst worst WORST way. I miss my twin sister more than words can say. I ALWAYS have to do this huh? I ALWAYS have to choose to move ACROSS the frickin country, and then I do this to myself. On top of that, my family isn't here, and more importantly, my sister isn't here, who I miss more than anything. I feel like all I do is hold back tears and wish that I had a comfort zone again. Its only been two years! ok I know I sound unrealistic...but still. and I know everyone goes through this and its only natural, but it feels like it'll never get better. Its so strange to feel like this-me, whose moved cross country 4 times now. I just miss everything so very very much.

I wish I could go back to the way things were in CA, but I know I can't. This city is so big, I feel like i'll disspear
